Today I had the opportunity to learn from a most unlikely person, a man who came to adjust and fix some of the security screens at my new home in Tara.
He worked on the screens all day, whilst delivering me quite a stream of information about living successfully in a fast paced world and learning to relax and enjoy the slower pace of life in Tara.
His advice was to work hard, but to take the time to enjoy and get to know the people around us. To never take oneself so seriously that there is no time for a bit of fun and laughter and to be thankful for the people we get to meet.
His advice included the need to be grateful and thankful for each day and all that it has to offer and to just be happy to still be alive and able to function when so many cannot do that.
He also spoke of the happiness that can be found in the simplest pleasures in life, such as watching the playful antics of an exuberant puppy, like my Miss Sasha, who showed off her fun loving spirit and friendly playfulness for his entertainment all day long.
I found his light-hearted banter to be both enjoyable to listen to and packed with wisdom and was glad that I had engaged his services in coming to attend to my security screens. Sometimes God puts the most unlikely ‘angels’ in our pathways. It really behoves us to be willing to listen to and learn from all we encounter as some of them are the bearers of the exact words of wisdom that we seriously need to hear and take on board. Thankyou, John, for your words of wisdom and your kindly encouragement.
I’m sure that many have benefitted from listening to your life stories, full of wisdom, as you have worked on their household goods and appliances over many years. May you always take the time to relate so beautifully to your customers and clients. It is a much-needed skill that you possess and that you are happy to share with others.
Well done, John.
