My dear young friend,
It’s almost time that you’ll walk down the aisle
And stand beside your precious bride
And wear the biggest smile.
Your vows you’ll say as you stand there
Before your closest friends.
You’ll hope and wish for joy each day
And love that never ends.
But really, more important
Are the vows made to your King,
To build your life upon Him
And to give Him everything.
That way, you’ll find your life will be
Sweeter than you could have guessed.
The Saviour plans a life for you
Filled with Heaven’s best.
He loves your little family
More than you could ever know
And watches closely over you
To guide you here below.
One day you’ll enter Heaven’s gates
And be greeted by the King
But, in the meantime
Praise His name,
For He holds everything
That he has planned to lead you through
To teach you how to thrive
And become a mighty Man of God,
On fire for Him, alive.
His plans for you are truly great,
He’s rejoicing over you now.
He’s hearing every word you’ll say,
Starting with the very first vow.
Be sure to build your life on Him,
Rejoice and celebrate.
And He will guide you every day
And make your pathways straight.
